Here is a pic of the labels that are currently being made for me! I'm so excited about them. I've got more pictures in my portfolio of a big order I recently finished and will be starting on another order once I get some homework done.

Exciting News!

My diapers are going to be sold in a store here in town!!! I was contacted by a couple who will be opening a natural parenting store here in town. My rival diapers and my other custom diapers are going to be sold in their store! It's called Circle Me and can be found online here. The store is opening up in December!!

The other exciting news is that I am getting my own labels!! Pretty soon I get to sew my own label to my diapers. SO COOL! I'm a brand!

The sad part is that I am taking 3 classes along with working full-time and my sewing has gone to the back burner. I'm really sad about this right now but want to keep it going, so if you have any ideas please let me know. I'm currently finishing an order and have a few more in the hopper. I might have to call up my mom to help me out. I will be posting pictures soon of my latest creations!

What's coming down the pike

Last night I finished serging some cloth wipes for my friend in Des Moines. I wish I would have done this when we first started cloth diapering. One side is flannel the other is velour. I'm seriously considering selling off all my wipes and making some more of these for myself.

The cover is for my friend Amber who is due in September. She likes animal print and made this cover with gussets to help contain the newborn poo. It turned out great! I will be making her 10 covers and 5 all-in one's. I've got another huge order for a mom due in October and one coming for a November baby. I'm thankful to have the extra time since I will be starting class next week. I'm a little nervous about getting everything done but I'm sure I will find a way. Either that or buy stock in Starbucks!

Amber's Business in the News!

A few weeks ago I was a panel member for a local cloth diapering event. It went very well and I got to share so much! Well, I received a call from our local paper shortly after to interview me for an article they were doing. Here is the article if you'd like to read it. Well, business has been very good since it came out. I've gotten lots of local interest in my diapers and have received about 5 orders. Its all VERY exciting!

This fall, along with work and making diapers I will be taking classes to get my high teaching certificate. In a few years yours truly will be teaching high school French. So, life is going to get REALLY busy REALLY fast. Wish me luck!

Starting Tuesday we are off to the Iowa State Fair, but before I go I need to finish a Huskers and Colorado Buffaloes diaper and sew up some cloth wipes for a friend of mine. I will definitely get those posted. Have a great day!

Our new diaper bag!

Well, I have sewn a few things in the last couple of weeks (4 diaper covers, 6 diapers, and 2 wetbags) but have yet to take some pictures. BUT, here is a hanging diaper bag I made for us to use on the stroller at the Iowa State Fair next week.

Technical Difficulties

We've been in and out of town alot recently so haven't had too much time to sew. I was in Iowa last week and got quite a big of sewing done but returned home to put the finishing touches on my projects and I ended up breaking a needle and chipping my bobbin case! ARG! I didn't check all parts after my machine had traveled in the car so now I will be taking it to the shop tomorrow. Ug!

Here are the last two diapers I made before vacation. They are so cool! I wish I could see my customers faces when they receive them. I've got a few more orders in the works so will have things waiting for me when I get home. Enjoy!

P.S. - In case you didn't know my husband, son, and I will be camping in the Tetons next week! Camping with an infant should be FUN!

P.P.S.- Can you find the mistake I made on one of these diapers? Free shipping on anything in my store if you find it and email me!

Weekend Projects and Etsy Update

Well, the orders just keep pouring in for my custom Rivalry Diapers. My first set of team material is set to arrive Tuesday so will post these creations on by the end of the week!

Here are pics of this weekends festivities. I (my mom) made a ring sling for Si and I and I sewed up 2 pocket diapers from a fleece remnant I got from my mom. SO ADORABLE!!! I've got a newborn-size and a large-size.

**If anyone reading would like to attend the cloth diapering event at Milkworks on Saturday, July 12th you will need to RSVP. The phone number is on the website.

So sleepy, must go to bed

I'm writing this at almost 9:30 in the evening. I've been up until about 1:30 AM the past 2 nights with no naps during the day. My husband has been to the ER, our regular doctor, and a surgeon the past couple of days with one NASTY infection. Poor guy!

I still managed to get some sewing done though, here are my newest diaper covers:

Sewing Craziness

My sewing room is a mess. I've been trying to clean up stuff here and there and sewing up projects I've had laying around for quite some time. I sewed up some fitted diapers I had cut out for Si (my son) when he was younger. Not quite sure what I've going to do with them yet, might put them on my Etsy site or use them as examples when I do my coth diaper talk.

I'm getting more interest in my team diapers. Hancock fabrics has a sale on their sports team material through Sunday so I can order a whole bunch at one time, yeah! Then I just have to sew 'em all up and be back to work full-time next week. Good luck Amber!

Today, I also tried out a new pattern I bought from Kayla's Cloth Kits for a one size pocket diaper. It's made to be used from newborn all the way up. Kind of bulky for a newborn but I think it will work great for Si because he's kind of in between sizes.

We took Si to the doctor's today for his 6 mo. appointment. Our nurse was so impressed with my cloth diapers she brought in 2 other nursers. When the doc arrived he just rolled his eyes and took another patient while we chatted, ha!

Etsy Update

Wow, so my Custom Sports Team diapers are really doing well. I've got 4 orders in the hopper! Sweet! People can also add your shop and items in your shop as favorites. I've got 8 people who have done this to my shop. Makes me feel good about what I am making. I've got some more projects in the works but have to go back to work tomorrow for the first time after surgery, yack! Good-bye sewing time!

My first customer!!!

Whoo-hoo! I just got a note from a customer wanting one of my Rivalry Diapers! She wants Oakland A's on the outside and the Boston Red Sox on the inside! I've only been online for not quite 2 days, yeah!

It can't get any cuter than this!

Ok, so I apologize to all you CD moms of boys. I PROMISE to make something equally cute soon. But, for now you can drool at the cutest diaper cover yet!

I'm a Guest Speaker!

We've got a local nonprofit organization here that assists nursing mothers, called Milkworks. They offer lactation consultations, classes, mom's groups etc.

WELL, they are having a cloth diapering event on Saturday, July 12th from 10-11:30 AM and I am on the panel! I'm so excited! We will have a little run through the week before but if you are in the area consider attending. Husbands and children are welcome, the event is free!

My new Etsy Shop!

So after last night's sewing extravaganza I put all my projects for sale on Etsy. It's kind of like eBay for all homemade items. Take a look!

Last night I finished 8 nursing covers, 2 wetbags, one all in one diaper, and one diaper cover. It was a pretty successful evening but have more I would like to get done. Sleep is first though, I'm SO TIRED!
